Honey + Onion Syrup

Honey superpowers: antimicrobial, antibiotic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, soothing, etc.
Onion superpowers: antibiotic, expectorant and antioxidant.

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion
  • honey (preferably raw and organic)
  • glass jar

Steps

  1. Dice onion and transfer to a glass jar.
  2. Pour in enough honey to coat onion pieces.
  3. A couple hours later, the onion will secrete a juice which will combine with the honey. Keep refrigerated and make another syrups every three days.

How to Use

  • 1-3 tablespoon twice a day.

Honey + Carrot Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg of carrot

Steps

  1. Dice the carrots into small pieces and place them in a pot.
  2. Fill the pot with water until the carrots are submerged and boil until they soften.
  3. Remove them from the pot (keep the leftover water) and mash them with a fork or spoon.
  4. Mix the left over carrot-water with your honey.
  5. Combine the Honey-carrot-water with the mashed carrots and mix..

How to Use

  • Take 3-4 spoons of it per day.

Honey + Garlic Syrup

Ingredients

  • 6 cloves of garlic

Steps

  1. Mince or finely chop up fresh, raw cloves of garlic.
  2. Mix the garlic together with the honey in a saucepan.
  3. On low heat, warm up for only a couple of minutes. Heating it up too high will destroy any medicinal benefits.
  4. Pour the syrup into a jar, label with the date, and keep in the fridge.

Honey + Lemon + Ginger Syrup

Ingredients

Ginger superpowers: descongestant, anti-inflamatory, antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial and others.
Lemon superpowers: anti-inflamatory, antioxidant and antifungal.

  • ginger
  • honey (preferably raw and organic)
  • 2 lemons
  • glass jar

Steps

  1. Peel a piece of ginger root and cut it into slices.
  2. Zest 2 fresh lemons using a grater or zester.
  3. Pour 1 cup of water into a saucepan.
  4. Add ¼ cup of the ginger slices.
  5. Add 1½ to 2 tablespoons of lemon zest.
  6. Bring the solution to a boil, then let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Strain the solution and set it aside.
  8. Pour 1 cup of raw honey into a saucepan and heat it over low heat, but do not let it boil.
  9. Mix in the previously strained ginger solution.
  10. Add the juice extracted from both the lemons.
  11. Keep stirring the mixture over low heat for a few minutes.
  12. Turn off the heat and pour the solution into a jar.

How to Use

  • ½ to 1 teaspoon every 2 hours for children ages 1 to 5 years.
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons every 2 hours for children ages 5 to 12 years.
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons every 4 hours for adults and children older than 12 years.
